Another great blog for up and coming writers
Thought I'd mention Terry Whalin's site. It's filled with tons of great advice from someone who's been in the industry a long time. Check it out.

I'm new to "blogs" and this kind of thing. I guess this is more of a question than a comment. First of all, tho, I'm impressed with your personal story. I am a 49 year old special ed. teacher and writer. While I don't have much time to write during the school year (and am quickly becoming burned out in spec.ed.), I am finding that my true love is editing. I would like to get into it professionally but have NO IDEA how or where to start. Being 49, I'm not exactly "young blood" but I am a voracious reader and seem to have a knack (I've been told) for it, (I was asked by my pastor to convert some sermon notes into devotional format, and am now editing a book for a teacher who is a client of a friend of mine. She recommended me.) yet don't know exactly all that is involved. Do you have any ideas or suggestions on where a middle-aged person might get a start in Christian publishing?
